No arrests have been made in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in southwest Cedar Rapids.
Police first learned of the shooting around 12:35 p.m. when Ryan Dennis, 44, of Cedar Rapids, arrived at Mercy Medical Center with a gunshot wound. He told officers another man shot him at 500 Seventh Avenue SW, where he lives.
Dennis' injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
The suspect was described as a shorter black male, dressed all in black. Witnesses told police a silver or gray car was speeding away shortly after the shooting, but investigators have not determined if there is any correlation.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (319) 286-5400 or Linn County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-CR-CRIME.
