After what investigators call a “slow-speed chase”, police searched a car, discovered a mobile meth lab and took a 23-year-old man into custody Sunday afternoon.
The Cedar Rapids Police Department said, at about 1:40 p.m. Sunday, neighbors called in a suspicious vehicle near a boat ramp on Old River Road SW. Officers later spotted the vehicle at Bowling Street and Wilson Avenue SW.
Investigators say the driver of the car did not stop but, instead, started a “slow-speed chase” through the Czech Vilage area. Police say the driver, Jonathan Jordan, 23, threw remnants of a mobile meth lab from his car before the chase ended at 8th Avenue and 8th Street SE.
Jordan is facing charges of being At-Large, Intereference with Official Acts, Reckless Driving, Open Container, a felony charge of Attempting to Elude, four counts of Disobedience to a Traffic Signal, Speed charges plus drug charges.
Investigators say Jordan was taken to the Linn County Jail.
