Podcast: 'On The Record' talks homicide sentencings

On the Record this week discusses court cases from last week involving two homicide related sentencings with guest First Assistant Linn County Attorney Nick Maybanks.
Robert L. Nash IV, 24, originally charged with first-degree murder, pleaded to voluntary manslaughter, second-degree robbery, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and trafficking in stolen weapons as an habitual offender. He robbed and fatally shot Clifton Sparks, 31, on Feb. 3, 2014. He was sentenced to 45 years in prison.
Liban Muhidin, 22, of Cedar Rapids, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2013 for conspiracy to commit a forcible felony, asked the court for a reconsideration of his sentence. Muhidin admitted to conspiring with four others to shooting at a vehicle in which Latasha Roundtree was a passenger. Another man with Muhidin, Tajh Ross, killed Roundtree that night. A judge resentenced Muhidin to five years probation.
