Plus-size women’s apparel store Torrid to open at Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids

Plus-size women's apparel retailer Torrid soon will open its first location in the Corridor at Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids.

Torrid sells clothing and accessories as well as sleepwear, shoes and intimate apparel for women between the sizes of 10 and 30. The store will be near Finish Line, according to a news release.

Jared the Galleria of Jewelry also plans to open soon at Lindale near Cheddar's.

A permit filed with the city of Cedar Rapids in late May shows a 5,229-square-foot building for Jared at the former Burger King site. The structure will include a retail store, seating area, repair shop, sales area, vault, training room, two diamond rooms, a credit department, inventory control, manager's office and children's play area.

Jared, a division of Signet Jewelers in Akron, Ohio, sells engagement rings, wedding bands, watches, bracelets, earrings and more.

Jared and Torrid operate stores in Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines. Torrid also opened a store earlier this year at NorthPark Mall in Davenport.
