Cedar Rapids zombie aficionados organized an “official bona fide” Zombie Pub Crawl at six local drinking establishments Thursday night.
The event was sponsored by the Undead Protection Agency, a Cedar Rapids-based group formed to educate the public about the “threat that zombies pose to humanity so that people don't end up as meals,” said Charlie Barnes, one of the group's organizers.
“Our motto is ‘Don't be a meal,'” Barnes said with his tongue in his cheek.
The pub crawl hoped to raise money for a Zombie Film Festival that is in the planning stages for some time around Halloween in October.
Thankfully, the zombies weren't real. But then again, there's always the chance.
