The company will take down the letters on the sign that faces Cedar Lake on Tuesday. The company is repairing damage to the letters, caused by the August. 10 derecho storm as well as replacing the neon tubes with safer and more energy efficient LED lighting. According to Nesper president Phil Garland, the LED lighting is lower voltage than neon and will use 1/6th the amount of electricity as neon.
