Nine dancers from Monticello High School and four from Alburnett High School competed in the Class IV solo division Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association state-qualifying event at Pella High School in Pella, Iowa.
Four dancers from Monticello finished in the top 10 to advance to the state finals in December in Des Moines. They are Kelsey Kremer, Morgan Ward, Saige Freeze and Whitney Long.
Because of schedule conflicts with dancers in another class, the Gazette was unable to photograph Alburnett’s Sydnee DeBrower and Monticello’s Bristol McElmeel.
