IOWA CITY -- The person who was electrically shocked Wednesday in Iowa City has died, Iowa City police said Thursday.
The victim’s name was not released, but ImOn Communications on Thursday confirmed the person was an ImOn employee.
Iowa City police and firefighters were called to Herbert Hoover Highway and Eastbury Drive at 9:53 a.m. Wednesday because of “an unexpected incident associated with a house relocation,” according to a Facebook post from the city.
First responders provided medical attention to a victim of an electrical jolt. The person was taken to a hospital and later died from injuries.
“This is a heartbreaking loss for the ImOn Communications family, and our thoughts are with their family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time,” Cindy Huber, vice president of marketing at ImOn Communications, said in a statement. “We are working closely with authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.”
