Iowa residents attending Kirkwood Community College in the upcoming fall will pay $7 more per credit hour than those enrolled in the 2023-2024 academic year -- bringing the rate to $217 per credit hour, according to a proposal the Board of Trustees approved this month.

Top health officials in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City agree Iowa is facing a physician shortage, though it is not as severe in the Corridor as in rural areas of the state. The Iowa Medical Society will be discussing that and other “pressing issues” in a series of meetings with health care providers in Cedar Rapids this week.
