th
Street on her way to an address near Oxford at 8:10 p.m., according to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, when her 15-year-old daughter called authorities about her mom's drunken driving. Becicka pulled the car into Don Hummer Trucking, 1486 Highway 6 NW in Oxford, where a sheriff's deputy was sitting, according to a criminal complaint.
Becicka exited the vehicle and approached the squad car to talk to the deputy, the complaint states. She reportedly smelled heavily of alcohol, her speech was slurred, her eyes were bloodshot and watery, and her balance was poor.
Becicka admitted to drinking, and her blood alcohol content tested at .235 – nearly three times the legal drinking limit, the deputy reported. The woman's daughter said her mother was drinking while driving with her in the car, according to the complaint.
The deputy found open containers of alcohol in the vehicle, the complaint states.
Becicka faces charges of endangerment without injury, an aggravated misdemeanor, and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated – her first such offense.
She was taken to the Johnson County Jail, she was being held Friday morning on a $5,000 cash-only bond.
