One woman hurt in crash on Highway 30 in Benton County

UPDATE: A woman suffered what are described as non-life threatening injuries after an accident on Highway 30 near the Highway 218 intersection in Benton County this morning.

According to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, rescue crews were called to Highway 30 near its intersection with Highway 218, southwest of Newhall, around 10:20 a.m.

Officers at the scene say a car was southbound on 73rd Street when the driver failed to yield at a stop sign and drove into the path of oncoming traffic on Highway 30. A semi-trailer truck hit then hit the car, forcing both vehicles off the road.

An air ambulance was called to the scene for a woman in the car who was injured, although it appears that none of the injuries are life-threatening, officials said.

The man driving the semi was not injured.

Traffic is now flowing in the area after being restricted for about an hour from the crash.
