One killed in motorcycle, truck collision near Solon

SOLON - One person was killed Tuesday evening after a truck turned into the path of a motorcycle near the intersection of Sutliff Road and Highway 1 just outside Solon.

According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, at approximately 6:22 p.m. at the 4500 block of Sutliff Road a truck was traveling east on Sutliff Road when it turned left into the path of a motorcycle heading west in the other lane on Sutliff, which resulted in the collision between the vehicles.

The incident remains under investigation. The identity of the person killed in the accident is being withheld until family can be informed, according to the report.

The report lists the Solon Fire Department, Johnson County Sheriff's Office and Johnson County Medical Examiner as assisting agencies at the scene.
