One injured in Cedar Rapids city bus, minivan crash

CEDAR RAPIDS - One person suffered minor injuries after a Cedar Rapids transit bus and a minivan collided Tuesday evening.
According to police, a black Nissan Quest minivan was traveling eastbound on 42nd St. NE, when it turned left onto Council St. NE and struck the westbound bus around 6:30 p.m.
The male driver of the minivan was uninjured, police said, and will be cited for failure to yield while turning left and for driving without insurance. His van sustained front-end damage and was towed at around 7:30 p.m.
Area Ambulance transported one occupant of the bus to St. Luke's Hospital, 1026 A Ave. NE, for complaints of leg pain. Police said the injury was minor.
The bus sustained minor damage, and was driven off the scene.
