A Cedar Rapids man was arrested for drunken driving after he crashed a car with three passengers Sunday, authorities said.
Nicholas Groves, 20, of Cedar Rapids, was eastbound around 1:45 p.m. Sunday on Wright Brothers Boulevard, east of C Street SW, when he lost control, according to the Linn County sheriff's office. The car went into the north ditch and rolled.
A backseat passenger in the car, Matthew Thomas, 27, of Fairfax, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. His injuries did not appear life-threatening, authorities said.
Deputies determined Thomas was not wearing a seat belt when the car crashed.
Groves and two other passengers, Jacob Dinnella, 22, and Travis Nelson, 19, both of Cedar Rapids, were not injured.
Groves was taken into custody on suspicion of operating while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance, failure to maintain control and no proof of insurance. He was taken to the Linn County Jail.
An investigation was continuing.
