One man was hurt when his motorcycle collided with a car early this afternoon in northeast Cedar Rapids.
The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. on Council Street NE, just south of Blairs Ferry Road NE. Lt. Jeff Hembera said the driver of the car pulled into the motorcyclist's path, causing the wreck.
The driver of the car told police heavy traffic blocked his view of the motorcyclist, Hembera said.
Police said the motorcycle driver had a shoulder injury, but was expected to be OK. He limped into the Casey's store to report the crash. Later, an ambulance took him to a hospital.
Damage to the car was minimal, except for a driver's side mirror that was knocked off.
Hembera said the motorcycle driver was wearing a helmet, and that it prevented more serious injuries.
