NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says he has no interest in playing a game against his alma mater, Iowa.
The topic came up this week as Stoops' brother, Mike, prepares to coach Arizona in a game against the Hawkeyes.
Stoops says he'd "rather not" play against Iowa since he has so many good friends connected to the program, including head coach Kirk Ferentz. He says he has a similar feeling about playing Arizona because of the family connection and he felt the same way when his brother, Mark, was an assistant at Miami.
Stoops says the only time it would be worth it to play such a game would be in a championship because then one side or the other would have to win.
