Ohio man sentenced for flood fraud

A 48-year-old man from Ohio was sentenced today to nearly two years in prison for claiming he lived in house that damaged in the 2008 flood.
Robert Henderson, of Columbus, OH, pleaded guilty in May to one count of disaster benefits fraud and one count of fraudulent use of a Social Security number. He admitted to submitting a fraudulent application June 20, for Federal Emergency Management Agency benefits to receive federal disaster financial assistance.
Henderson was sentenced to 21 months in prison and was ordered to make $1,218 in restitution to the Linn County Department of Human Services.
