A North Liberty man is accused of third-degree criminal mischief and assault causing injury on a peace officers after UI Police say he allegedly shattered a window of one of the Department's vehicles and kicked an officer.
Records indicate Christopher R. Ross, 24, of 1040 Jones Boulevard, was being placed under arrest for public intoxication and interference with official acts when he allegedly became angry and combative at 125 S. Dubuque Street.
Authorities say that Ross refused to get into the patrol vehicle. While officers attempted to put him inside, Ross allegedly head-butted the rear passenger side window of the vehicle and kicked an officer.
University of Iowa Police say that officer sustained a bump above his left eye after being kicked. The window shattered and caused approximately $800 worth of damage to the vehicle.
Ross was being held at the Johnson County Jail waiting to appear before a judge Sunday morning. He was later released on his own recognizance.
