CEDAR RAPIDS - No injuries were reported after someone shot at a northeast Cedar Rapids house with five children inside Wednesday night, police said.
Officers responded around 10:40 p.m. to 1640 A Ave. NE and found two bullet holes in a back window. Investigators recovered two spent .22 caliber shell casings outside.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said Isrrael Santiago Sr., 43, and his wife, Kizzie Jones, 39, were in the house with the children. She said two bullets entered the living room, where Jones and her two children were.
No suspect description was provided, and the couple said they did not know who shot at the house. Santiago was not cooperative during the investigation, police said.
"He said he may know who it was, but he doesn't give out names like that," Hamblin said.
An investigation was continuing.
