BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - A Bloomington woman who fell down her basement stairs was discovered by a newspaper carrier's efforts three days later.
Amanda Daugherty has a route for The Pantagraph newspaper in Bloomington with her husband. She noticed newspapers piled on the subscriber's doorstep Tuesday morning and the door half open. Daugherty and neighbors decided to call police.
Daugherty says the woman had fallen down her basement steps had been stranded since Saturday. The woman was in stable condition at a local hospital.
Bloomington police spokesman Dave White praised Daugherty and says the incident show it is "important for everyone to keep their eyes open."
