New trial date set for man accused of sexual abuse following hung jury

A new trial date has been set for a man accused of sexual abuse, because of a hung jury in Johnson County District Court.
Jury members were unable to reach a verdict last month in the case of Andre D. White, 39, of an unknown address, who is charged with second-degree sexual abuse.
The new trial date is set for Sept. 20 following a pretrial conference scheduled for Sept. 9. White is ordered to be present at the pretrial conference, according to court documents.
Police said White held a knife to a woman's neck while sexually abusing her Jan. 22. White sexually assaulted the woman twice and threatened to kill her and her son if she screamed or reported the incident, according to a police report.
