Nov. 9, 2010 11:24 am
Police on Tuesday released a new surveillance image of the man they say robbed a bank inside a grocery store.
The image shows a man walking in the main entrance of Hy-Vee, 1845 Johnson Ave. NW, at 5:33 p.m. last Thursday, minutes before he approached a teller at the Collins Community Credit Union branch inside the store.
According to the police report, the man threatened to have a gun, but didn't display it, before walking out of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen leaving the area in a older model blue compact station wagon.
The suspect is a white man, about 6 feet tall with a goatee. He was wearing a camouflage hat, a black shirt, a dark jacket and blue jeans.
No arrests have been made in the case, police said.
“They get phone calls all the time, and they do the follow-ups, but I don't know that any names have jumped out at them,” Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said.
Anyone who knows the man shown in the surveillance image or who has any information about the incident is asked to call Linn County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-CR-CRIME.
