Mural Nears Completion at CSPS

Tom Torluemke has been working on a mural of over around 50 people from Cedar Rapids, IA. He has been sketching since last Saturday and began painting shortly after. 9 days
Torluemke started painting when he was a small child.
"I had a great uncle Freddy who was deaf and mute and he watched me a lot when I was a child," Torluemke said. "He couldn't sign or read lips or anything like that and in order for us to communicate back and forth we used to draw pictures to one another."
The mural: "You Know... We're All in This Together," will be unveiled Friday, June 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. At CSPS Hall, 1103 Third St. SE.
