Multiple crashes slow traffic on southbound Interstate 380
UPDATE: One lane of southbound Interstate 380 in downtown Cedar Rapids was closed after two crashes this morning.
Both accidents happened around 7:30 a.m. today near the Diagonal Drive exit from I-380, at the very end of the "S" curve that weaves over the Cedar River near Quaker Oats.
The accidents brought southbound traffic to a standstill, and while traffic is moving again in the area, motorists would be advised to take a different southbound route through Cedar Rapids.
It appears that at least two vehicles crashed into the guardrails on both sides of the southbound lanes. No one was injured in the first crash, but injuries were reported in the second crash, police said.
