Mount Vernon Road SE reopened after fire
CEDAR RAPIDS - Firefighters from three departments responded to a large fire Tuesday afternoon.
Flames were coming from RL Snitker Construction in the 4300 block of on Mount Vernon Road SE around 3 p.m.
The fire appeared to be under control as of around 5 p.m., though the damage to the building has authorities worried about a possible roof collapse.
Just before 5 p.m., a release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office said the road was reopened to traffic.
Authorities on the scene said it was too early to know if there were any injuries or begin investigating a cause.
