Motorcyclist injured after avoiding deer on I-380

BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa - A Waterloo man suffered injuries after losing control of his motorcycle, sheriff's deputies said.
The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office said Roger Drewes, 48, was riding his motorcycle on I-380 around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, when a deer entered the road in front of him. He avoided colliding with the deer, but lost control of his bike.
The impact threw Drewes off the road and into the grass off a paved shoulder near mile marker 56. He was taken to Covenant Medical Center.
His condition was not available.
