Motorcyclist in critical condition after Interstate 380 crash

UPDATE: Brian Ries, 19, of Toddville, remains in critical condition today at University Hospitals in Iowa City after he lost control of his motorcycle Sunday on northbound Interstate 380, hit a guard rail just past the Quaker Oats plant and was ejected over the railing onto a grassy area, according to police.
Ries was initially taken to St. Luke's Hospital and then airlifted to Iowa City. The crash is still under investigation.
Police say Ries was traveling northbound on I-380 around noon Sunday when he lost control of his motorcycle, struck a guardrail and was thrown over the side of the 4th Street overpass.
