An Eastern Iowa woman is accused of allowing others to brew methamphetamine at the Cedar Rapids apartment where she and her infant son lived.
Melanie M. Padilla, 24, of DeWitt, has been charged with aiding and abetting in the manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of precursors and child endangerment. Police executed a search warrant March 21 at Padilla's apartment, 4030 Johnson Ave. NW, Apt. A, and found remnants of a meth lab, according to a police report.
Padilla has since moved from Cedar Rapids to DeWitt, police said.
Padilla came to the Police Station last week to talk with investigators. According to court documents, Padilla admitted to supplying Pseudoephedrine, lithium and other items to others to make the drug.
After Padilla was booked at the Linn County Jail, she was allowed to sign a promise to appear in court and was released.
An investigation was continuing, police said.
