More snow on the way; up to 5 inches possible tonight
Feb. 24, 2011 12:19 pm
Parts of Eastern Iowa could see 5 inches of snow tonight as a storm system moves through the state.
Snow will move in from the southwest late this afternoon and will be with us through the evening and overnight, KCRG-TV9 meteorologist Kaj O'Mara said. Roads will quickly become snow covered and slick.
Total accumulations from 6 p.m. today through 6 a.m. Friday will range from 1 to 3 inches north of Interstate 80 to as much of 5 inches south of I-80.
Another round of snow is possible Friday night into Saturday, O'Mara said, and a mix of precipitation is possible Sunday into Monday.
