Monticello’s Manternach twins named to All-RVC boys’ basketball Elite Team
Twin brothers Derek and Matt Manternach of Monticello were among those named to the All-River Valley Conference boys' basketball Elite Team, it was announced Monday.
Also on the Elite Team were Iowa City Regina's Nathan Stenger, Cascade's Devin Green, Tipton's Matt Pelzer and West Branch's Cooper Kabela. Kabela and Camanche's Dakota Soenksen were the lone juniors named to the team.
The other eight players are seniors.
Regina's Stu Ordman was named the Coach of the Year in the South Division. The Regals lost in a Class 2A substate final last weekend.
Cascade will play in the state tournament in Des Moines next week.
