A Monticello woman pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court to embezzling about $146,513 from a bank she was employed in Northeast Iowa.
Holly Boehm, 34, pleaded guilty to bank misapplication or embezzlement from a bank and aggravated identity theft.
Boehm was a teller at the unidentified bank and she admitted in court to forging the signature of a bank customer to obtain the $146,513 for personal use.
The charge of bank misapplication carries up to 30 years in prison and up to $1 million fine and aggravated identity theft carries a mandatory two years.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Rose said as part of the plea agreement Boehm will likely be sentenced to three years in prison, based on the federal sentencing guidelines. She also agreed to pay $25,686 in restitution to the bank.
A sentencing date wasn't set.
