How one Cedar Rapids family helped a Haitian family in need of medical care- Earlier this month, a chain of events — a series of connections and of good will that stretched across years and miles — finally reached its culmination in Cedar Rapids.
Two patients made their way into the surgical wing of Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids the morning of May 9, not unlike many patients coming for routine operations.

But starting in 2019, those without proper identification will be allowed to cast only a provisional ballot and must produce an acceptable form of ID before the following Monday or the ballot won't count. Read more...
'Let Me Run' has powerful message- Their motto is pretty simple. And, after you hear their story, pretty powerful.
'Preparing Boys for the Long Run.'
Let Me Run held its spring Eastern Iowa Corridor 5K on Sunday, where 92 boys completed their session by running 3.1 miles.
A national organization based in North Carolina, Let Me Run has been around for more than 10 years and was started by Ashley Armistead to challenge the 'Boys Code' — the 'mask of masculinity' many grow up with, the 'be a man' mentality. There are programs in 30 states and Washington, D.C. Read more...
