Missing 4-year-old girl found in Coralville parking lot

(AP) - Police in Coralville say a 4-year-old girl was missing for at least an hour before her mother reported her missing.
A woman found the girl in a Burger King parking lot and flagged down officers Tuesday evening. The woman told police the girl ran in front of her car and was nearly hit.
Police say the girl was fully clothed but was not wearing shoes.
Police took custody of the child. After nearly an hour, the girl's mother reported her daughter missing. The mother told police she started looking for her daughter when she realized she hadn't heard her in a while.
Police say the Iowa Department of Human Services will investigate.
