CEDAR RAPIDS - The Minnesota Twins announced a handful of minor-league transactions Tuesday, including the release of former Cedar Rapids Washington prep Chad Christensen.
The 25-year-old Christensen was an outfielder for high-Class A Fort Myers, but was hitting just .190 in 42 games. The former University of Nebraska player hit .257 in 114 games last season for the Miracle.
Christensen played the entire 2014 season at home with the Cedar Rapids Kernels, hitting .272 in 127 games, with 24 doubles, seven triples, nine home runs, 73 RBIs and 30 stolen bases.
He was a 25th-round draft pick of the Twins in 2013 and was a .254 hitter in 330 career professional games.
The Twins also announced the promotion of infielder Alex Perez from the Kernels to Fort Myers. Perez hit .262 in 18 games for C.R.
