CEDAR RAPIDS - The MedQuarter Regional Medical District is hoping to attract new businesses with a newly announced loan program.
MedQ officials said Monday the district is partnering with the East Central Iowa Council of Governments for a revolving loan fund. The fund will provide qualifying businesses with amounts between $10,000 and $50,000.
Robyn Jackson, a contract administrator with ECICOG, said the loans are intended to attract 'a more diverse range of businesses” to the district. The district wants to bring in more retail, restaurants and not-for-profits, for example.
Jackson said she expects the program to provide between two and five loans a year.
