CEDAR RAPIDS - The hottest team in the United States Hockey League remained red hot Saturday night
Hugh McGing scored the go-ahead goal with 7:01 left, and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders beat the Waterloo Black Hawks, 5-2, at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
Tyler Gernhofer and Andrew Gaus added empty net goals as the Riders improved to a league-best 18-2. Ben Blacker made 32 saves for the victory in net.
Jiri Fronk and Casey Jerry also scored goals for Cedar Rapids. Fronk has a USHL-leading 17 goals in 20 games.
The RoughRiders host Bloomington next Saturday in their only game.
