CEDAR RAPIDS - Winger Matt Filipe of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders has been selected to the United States Hockey League's All-Rookie second team, the league announced Tuesday.
Filipe had 17 goals and 19 assists this season for Cedar Rapids. The Northeastern University signee was listed 51st among North American skaters in Central Scouting Service's final rankings of 2016 National Hockey League draft-eligible players and has secured a spot in the pre-draft scouting combine.
Youngstown forward Cam Morrison was named the USHL's Rookie of the Year. He had 34 goals and 32 assists this season.
Other first-team members were Muskegon forward Collin Adams, Sioux City forward Eeli Tolvanen, Green Bay defenseman Andrew Peeke, Omaha defenseman Jacob Bryson and Madison goaltender Ryan Edquist.
Joining Filipe on the second team were Omaha forward Brannon McManus, Waterloo forward Shane Bowers, Youngstown defenseman Luke McInnis and Tri-City goalie Dayton Rasmussen.
