Marion man to prison for sex with girl, 14

CEDAR RAPIDS - A 35-year-old Marion man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl. Shawn Wilkerson pleaded guilty to third-degree sexual abuse in Linn County District Court last month.
He met the girl through friends and then pursued her on Facebook, asking for naked pictures of her and eventually picking her up after school and having a sexual relationship with her, First Assistant Linn County Attorney Nick Maybanks said. The relationship started last July and continued through November.
