Marion man convicted of dealing drugs in jail

A Marion man previously convicted on 47 counts of wire fraud and money laundering in federal court was found guilty Thursday for distributing oxycodone in the Linn County Jail.
Donald Washburn, 63, was found guilty in U.S. District Court of one count of distribution of oxycodone after a two-day trial. The jury deliberated for about an hour and a half.
Washburn sold his prescription oxycodone medication while being held at the Linn County Jail following his fraud convictions, according to trial testimony. Washburn faces up to 20 years in prison and $1 million fine for the drug charge. Sentencing hasn't been set.
He also faces up to 675 years on the 47 charges and his sentencing is pending in that case.
