CEDAR RAPIDS - A Marion man was charged with attempted murder Tuesday in connection with a September stabbing.
Cedar Rapids police said Jason Morris, 28, was arrested without incident at his home, 1764 Blackhawk Dr., and taken to the Linn County Jail.
The charge stems from an incident at 110 Harbet Ave. NW, No. 4, in Cedar Rapids. Stephen Allen, 32, of Cedar Rapids, was stabbed multiple times in the head, neck and back, police said. He was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital for surgery.
Officers who responded around 3:30 a.m. Sept. 22 learned that an altercation had occurred in the hallway of the apartment building, and witnesses described a man who had been seen nearby.
Morris is being held on a $25,000 cash or surety bond for the attempted murder charge, along with a $10,000 cash-only bond for a charge of probation violation.
Attempted murder is a Class B felony, punishable by up to 25 years in a penitentiary.
