The man who died Saturday after jumping into the water that rushes out of Lake Delhi and into the Maquoketa River was identified today.
Jonathan Berg, 34, died in the incident, which occurred around 11:40 a.m. Saturday at the dam. He was originally from California but was recently living in Dyersville, Delaware County Sheriff John LeClere said today.
Berg jumped from the road to the water, a drop of at least 50 feet.
A witness at the scene said Berg was active in extreme risk sporting activities, and may have been looking for a thrill when he jumped into the water.
