A Cedar Rapids man who was stabbed early Monday morning walked to a Walgreens store to report the assault, police said.
Victor Rodgers, 46, told officers that the woman he was living with stabbed him in the left shoulder at his apartment at 136 32nd St. NE. When police went back to the apartment, the woman was gone.
Rodgers was transported to St. Luke's Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said police recovered the knife that was used in the assault. She said officers have not yet spoken to the woman, but charges are possible.
Rodgers and the woman had been living with each other for the past year, Hamblin said. Police were still trying to determine their exact relationship.
An investigation is continuing.
