Man taken to hospital after motorcycle spill

A man was taken to the hospital after he lost control of his motorcycle Tuesday afternoon in Iowa City.
Emergency responders were dispatched to Highway 218, just north of Melrose Avenue, around 4:05 p.m. for a report of a motorcycle accident with injuries.
The man, whose name and age could not be verified, was heading southbound on Highway 218 and lost control of his motorcycle. He crashed into a grassy median between the northbound and southbound lanes of the highway.
Police said the man did not suffer life-threatening injuries, but was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for further medical care.
