Stiffing a cabdriver doesn't work when you forget your wallet in his cab, Kenneth Lindsay learned Wednesday night.
Lindsay was arrested at the Aspen Inn, 3233 South Ridge Dr. SW, after he did just that, police Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said.
Officers were called to the motel at 11:45 p.m. after Lindsay bolted from a Century Cab after running up a $19 fare. They used the identification in Lindsay's wallet to find his room, where he was arrested for theft and public intoxication. A charge of interference with official acts was added after Lindsay tried to kick out the back window of the squad car that took him to the Linn County Jail (no fare).
Lindsay, 39, of Loves Park, Ill., was released from jail after a court appearance Thursday morning.
