Police are investigating a shooting early Wednesday morning outside a Cedar Rapids bar, but details are still fuzzy.
Kevin Herring, 21, of Cedar Rapids, told police he was shot twice in the lower left leg around 2:20 a.m. outside of The Hub, 3661 First Ave. East. Officers were called to Mercy Medical Center when Herring went there for treatment.
Herring's injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin, a police spokeswoman, said Herring was walking to his car when he was shot. He has told investigators he does not know who shot him or what they looked like.
“He can't give us any information as to who it was, and witnesses have been uncooperative,” Hamblin said. “We're doing everything we can, but it's difficult when no one is willing to help.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at (319) 286-5491.
