Man seriously injured in lawn tractor accident

Joseph Hughes, 61 of Macon, Missouri suffered life threatening injuries when a lawn mowing tractor he was driving rolled over and pinned him.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Department release, Hughes was mowing grass around 3 p.m. today on the 4000 block of Lincoln Heights Dr. SE in Cedar Rapids.
Hughes reportedly was the only person present and injured when the mower tipped while along a steep embankment.
Multiple departments including the Linn County Deputies and Linn County Rescue arrived to assist.
According to the release, Hughes was flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals by a Life-Guard Air Ambulance, and his current status is unknown at this time.
