Man seriously hurt in Otis Road crash improving

A Cedar Rapids man has shown medical improvement after a single-vehicle crash left him with serious injuries.
Kevin Baker, 26, was westbound in the 1600 block of Otis Road SE around 4:30 p.m. Friday when he lost control of his car and ran into trees on the south side of the street, police said. He was trapped for about 45 minutes before firefighters cut off part of the roof and a door.
Baker was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, where he was listed in good condition Tuesday morning. Police had no further details about his injuries.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said Baker was wearing his seat belt when he crashed. She said no charges have been filed in the incident at this time.
