Man seriously hurt after crashing antique pickup
A Cedar Rapids man suffered serious injuries when the antique pickup he was driving slammed into a parked car, police said.
Victor Porter, 54, was eastbound on 19th Avenue SW near Hamilton Street SW when his pickup struck a legally-parked car around 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, police said. A utility pole was also struck during the wreck, and Alliant Energy workers repaired power lines pulled off a home.
Porter was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center. His official medical condition on Wednesday was not immediately available.
An investigation was continuing to determine why Porter crashed.
