Man robbed, threatened to shoot Iowa City delivery driver, police say

Iowa City police are searching for an armed robbery suspect.

Officers responded to the 1700 block of Deforest Avenue in Iowa City just before midnight Monday. Upon arrival, a Papa John's Pizza delivery driver told them a man approached her, displayed what appeared to be a weapon, and demanded money.

The suspect reportedly said he'd shoot the driver if she didn't give him the money. She gave him cash, and he ran away in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as either Hispanic or white, approximately 30 years old, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a heavy build. He was wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans or jean shorts.
