Man reports being assaulted, robbed in northeast Cedar Rapids
An 18-year-old told police he was robbed Tuesday night in the 7100 block of C Avenue NE.
The victim told officers he'd been dropped off by a friend about 8:40 p.m. when another man ran up, tackled, and punched him, Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said. The suspect took the victim's phone, hat, and backpack, worth about $185 total, and ran off.
The robber was white and wore a black sweatshirt, gray shorts, and sunglasses. He was with two other men who didn't participate in the assault but ran off with him, according to the victim. No weapon was shown.
